A Lab is a Lab is a Lab. As Lis said, field-trials working labs tend to be smaller (fitter) strains of Labradors than the mirror-Mary show-dogs, but if the size of a Lab puts you off - Don’t get a labrador! The original version of the Lab, the UK breed ar smaller than the US breed (as with the people I suspect) but there isn’t a HUGE difference. read more
