Is Ukraine LGBT friendly?

When I was in Ukraine in 2012-2013, Ukraine was not at all friendly to the LGBT community. LGBT Peace Corps Volunteer were warned not to reveal their sexuality as LGBT Volunteers who had their sexuality revealed in the past were shunned by the community they were sent to help. read more

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals have complained about an increase of attacks on them in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic in Eastern Ukraine. Many volunteers that took in refugees from territory controlled by the Donetsk People's Republic refused to host LGBT people. read more

Ukraine lags behind most of Europe on gay rights, but pride marches do take place, heavily guarded by police and threatened by right-wing thugs.
