I happen to buy guitars and do woodwork and I would say that Zebra is used mostly for cosmetic reasons. Mahogany has a better sound. I have worked with zebra many times and I think the reason it is not used is because it is too dense and hard. read more

I'm buying a new guitar and choosing between the Washburn D10SCEZ and the D10SCE. The difference is than one uses Zebrawood on the back and sides and the other uses Mahogany. I have never heard of quality guitars using zebrawood before. read more
