As others have indicated, JFK liked his family and some sycophants and functionaries of the New England area especially. He likely respected Truman in a wary way, which was made easier by Truman's great dislike of (“Squirrel Headed”) Nixon. read more

Not sure what he thought of Truman, but Truman didn't think much of him. Like Eleanor Roosevelt and (at least initially) Adlai Stevenson, LBJ, etc., the Democratic Party establishment of the time didn't like the Kennedys. read more
