Definitely quality. No matter how many books you ever read you'll probably never even match the size of a library in a small town . Books are meant to be absorbed and understood. It is possible to do this through skimming, but not for all books. read more

For individual book,read important parts in detail,and skim unnecessary parts.For group books,I think reading novel just for sparing time,quantity over quality,because you're relaxing yourself,but reading professional books for getting knowledge,quality over quantity. read more

The gut reaction is "quality is better, quantity has no value". But that's not entirely true. Quantity definitely has value, when it comes to reading. At this point, probably most people in this subreddit won't benefit more from reading quantity over reading quality.
