In Key West I know that “Boid’s Key West Campground” has tent camping and the price runs around the $ 65s for the day, try that one. Fort Zachary does not have camp site. Still there are places nearby that you can try. read more

Inside Key West there are no campgrounds. If you want to camp there is a KOA but you will need to make reservations. However, if you want my honest opinion. Camping in the Keys is best done via a boat, anchor in a lagoon near an uninhabited island, have a bonfire, and sleep at anchor. read more

We sincerely hope to return when it's warmer so we can take up some of the gems of the island lost on us during our visit--snorkeling pristine coral reefs found in shipwrecks such as the famed Windjammer; kayaking to Loggerhead Key located three miles from the fort, and of course, paddling the perimeter in search of the famed Tortugas (turtles) for which the island is named. read more
