My mother's father is 6'0, and 2 out of 3 cousins on that side of the family are over 6'. Yet I am 5'8. I have ancestors in both directions of my family tree who are taller than I am. If I have a child with the right woman, there is no reason that the genes for taller height won't be expressed and I would have a child taller than 6 feet. read more

The children will inherit one copy of $A_1$ from the father and $B_1$ from the mother, but they could inherit either $B_1$ or $B_2$ from the father and either $A_1$ or $A_2$ from the mother.
