Should a beginner use a Penny board or a Nickel board?

I also longboard. Penny boards are fun I have 2 but they are hard to get used to riding. If you really had your heart set on a penny board the I would say the Penny board nickel which is bigger and easier to ride, but other wise a cruiser board is a great start because they come in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit your needs. read more

I have a Penny Board, a Penny Nickel Board, some skateboards and Cruisers. I started on a Penny Cruiser/Nickel (Modified) board. The only time I ever find myself riding any of the Penny boards is when it is raining. I think I learned faster and really enjoyed riding a board with a wood deck much more. read more

Use whatever looks the funnest to you. Honestly either way you'll have fuN. Although many don't like the penny or the nickel and say it not a beginner board. I learned on a penny and it was relatively easy, maybe i just got lucky but I believe there is little difference in the difficulties of cRusier. read more
