Should I attend Boston University or Oxford College of Emory?

Many moons ago, my Father taught at Boston University, and thus I could get free tuition at Boston University. At great personal expense (I was still paying off loans in my 30s), I chose to Emory as an undergraduate and I have never regretted that decision. read more

Oxford is a 2-year junior college of Emory where you go automatically as a junior. It is a much less stressful setting than big Emory or Boston University. That said, I’ve considered it a bridge between high school and college. read more

There is a caviat to Oxford's rigor though: someone who posted about the whole Oxford vs. Emory thing in the past said that nearly 90% of Oxford continuees graduate in the top 10% of Emory's graduating class (I can't remember what class it was but it was a pretty recent one I'm sure). read more

Basically, if you are good enough to GET INTO a top school, you have the skills to succeed REGARDLESS OF WHICH UNIVERSITY YOU ACTUALLY ATTEND. Sooooo, if you can get into a top 20 (or 21) school, which school you attend should have little impact upon your career outcome. read more
