Should I tip the dental hygienist?

Just had my teeth cleaned yesterday and the hygienist did a great job. While I was waiting to pay my bill at the front desk, she was "hovering" around me. At the time, I thought she was just being nice - keeping me company while I waited. But afterwards I thought - perhaps she was waiting for a tip! read more

I'm sure they would appreciate it. Most hygienists aren't hired FT bc dentists don't want to pay for benefits/insurance/retirement. They also don't get sick pay/holiday pay or vacation pay. read more

I am a Hygienist and you do not have to tip the hygienist, it’s a nice gesture tough. Just tell her that you appreciated what she did for you and compliment her on her skills. If u want to do something nice for her just get her a little gift the next cleaning. read more
