Should Indian Railways be privatized?

The capitalist in me wants me to say yes, but given the current state of privately managed railroads in the US, I'm not so enthusiastic about the privatization in this case. IR, especially the Southern and Western segments, is run in a very efficient manner by Indian standards. read more

While I do not support complete privatization of railways but there are a lot of things that can be privatized. Manufacturing of locomotives and coaches is one thing that immediately needs to be privatized. read more
