Yes. Cities should put sand on their roads and businesses put salt on their sidewalks before a snowstorm. It's their responsibility, at least where I live. read more
Salt “gets in the way” of the interactions between H and O, making it harder for the H and O to bond as ice. so to answer your question, before is probably best so any water that hits the ground becomes salty and cannot freeze as easily. read more
I noticed before when I salted before a 1 to 2" storm, everything just turned to slush and I had to plow it anyways. Just wanted to know what you guys do in this situation. The Post Office is pretty strict on having salt down when slippery. read more
