Yes take photos by all means. All concentration camp memorials should be respected so it would not be appropriate to take photos of yourself / friends or your group smiling as if you are having a good time. At the Auschwitz Museum a guide would especially ask you not to take photos of the mammoth exhibit of hair cut from the victims. read more

The majority of people who died in the Holocaust never saw the inside of a Nazi concentration camp. Instead, they were shot, starved or worse. This takes nothing away from those who did, just shows you how broad the Holocaust was. read more
