Nationalism is much less popular in China than in the US. Just an example: During the Rio Olympics, Gabby Douglas was openly criticised by media and on social network for not putting hand on her heart during US national anthem. read more

Nationalism for China is precisely what needs to be avoided, for contrary to what common thought question of true identity as Chinese will always be in question. Case in point: Qing dynasty has been Chinese rule for 3 centuries and the western world considers that to be China. read more

In China you can grow Rice, twice in a year while in Europe it usually takes an entire year to grow wheat once. In southern China. In the cradle of Chinese civilization, you grew millet, not rice. So this is besides the point. China had a superior civilization and administrative state (to Western Europe) before it expanded south of the Yangzi. read more
