Not because it's Fresno but because no place on earth will ever become Silicon Valley. Silicon Valley has become what it is because of a great number of factors that have been in affect for many decades (the research institutes, the universities, the weather, the culture of San Francisco, the climate, etc.). All that being said about Vancouver, no city will become the next Silicon Valley. I recently saw Stewart Butterfield speak and this question was asked. I thought his response was spot on so I will paraphrase and maybe he can comment to fill in the inevitable gaps: There will be no second Silicon Valley. read more
