The Roman system of government was more complex, but offered a more flexible and efficient form of government than in Athens. Since it was more efficient and allowed for greater flexibility, I believe it was the better form of political organization. read more
Define “better.” See, Rome collapsed largely due to rampant corruption in the Senate. Granted, it lasted for a very long time before that, but it fell all the same and because of problems with its government. On the other hand, Athens fell to Macedon because its statesmen did not come to a decision to fight King Philip until it was far too late. read more
