Was Paul of Tarsus being a jerk, or am I reading it wrong?

I think that a case can be made that Paul was a jerk…but I also think that he is unfairly maligned a lot of the time. Keep in mind that lots of people forged writings in the names of other people, in the ancient world as well as today.
