I believe that Robert E Lee intended to be an honorable man. But intentions don’t relieve a person from taking into account the facts as they accumulate in front of their eyes. And the facts that Robert E Lee ignored was that slavery was immoral and that it would only continue to exist by continued violence, both in keeping human beings in bondage and through the military. read more
