Was rock music invented by Americans or British?

Nobody really invented Rock music. At some point The Blues mutated into rock and roll. Nobody can agree on exactly where and when this occurred but there's no doubt it was in the USA somewhere at some point. read more

Early American Rock and Roll Pioneers like Elvis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bill Haley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly etc were definitely (but not exclusively) rock and roll artists but they were all influenced by the mutation of the blues into rockabilly, jump music, Rhythm and Blues and other genres that were important steps between straight blues and straight rock. read more
