Actually it was a series of books before either, written by A. A. Milne, starting back in 1926. Christopher Robin is actually based on his son, and the characters are all based on the actual stuffed animals Christopher had as a child. read more

It actually wasn't until 1966 that he saw his first short animation, and did not get a full movie until 1977 with “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.” The first television series came later “Welcome to Pooh Corner,” and ran from 1983 until 1986. read more
