Dinosaurs have been classified based on modern classification. Kingdom: Animalia — they are animals. Phylum: Chordata — they are chordates, this doesn't guarantee they're vertebrates though. Some chordates are not vertebrates. read more
Invertebrates don’t form a phylum. Neither, in fact, do vertebrates, although all vertebrates belong to the same phylum, chordata. Kingdoms are a much larger grouping. All animals belong to the same one, invertebrates and vertebrates. On that note, dinosaurs were vertabrates. You can tell by the simple fact that they left external skeletons. read more
