There are only some legends about face up decapitations. Mostly it was practiced by Nazis during WWII. Nazis liked to use guillotine in occupied countries and this was a good thing how to make the execution more stressful. There are also some legends about Robespierre’s decapitation facing up the guillotine, but it’s probably not true. read more
