According to a poll conducted by Gallup, there were more religious people during the 50’s than there were during the 70’s. The first table in that link shows that 3–7% of respondents chose “none” aka non-religious, during the 70’s. It begins at 3% in 1970, but reaches 7% by the year 1979. read more
