One word we get from ancient Egyptian is “adobe”, which comes from the ancient Egyptian dbe, with the Arabic "al" added at the beginning. Another ancient Egyptian word we still use today is “gypsy”, which is a shortening of the word “Egyptian” (even though really Roma people come from India, not Egypt). read more
