The standard Tiger tank had many small and medium changes made to it, without any corresponding change to its name. For example the equipment layout inside the turret was changed 4 times. We now refer to “early” and “late” Tigers but these names are modern inventions. Its variants are few. They are; Panzerbefehlswagen Tiger. There was usually a “command” variant of any German tank, with extra radios. In the case of the Tiger it had a fully functioning gun. read more
Basically I think the only Tiger 1 variants are the Tiger 1 and Sturmtiger. I count the Tiger 1H and Tiger 1E as the same Tiger 1 because Tiger 1H is just the name Tiger started with, and Tiger 1E is just the same it ended with. read more
