What are differences between Typical owls and Barn owls?

I'm not sure what you mean by "typical owls" but I'm going to assume you mean Great horned owls which are quite numerous through a large part of the world. The ones I've seen live and nest in trees (around here, mostly tall palm trees that haven't been pruned down to one or two fronds). read more

They must hunt more or less the same prey but I believe great horned owls can handle slightly larger prey than barn owls. Golf courses are very good homes for both species because of all the trees and lakes and limited numbers of humans wandering about, but the palm oases are also great places to find owls of all kinds. read more
