The Happy Prince, yes certainly the best. It's so moving and delicately told. I also like the Rose and the Nightingale and The Selfish Giant. I enjoyed discovering that side of Oscar Wilde when I first read them. Actually, they're all very good. read more

He therefore started to work in a number of popularist sub-genres - detective fiction, ghost stories, fairy tales - a market opened up by recently reduced printing costs and used to great effect by the likes of Arthur Conan Doyle. read more
