I'm not aware of one single book. But, Story of Math (BBC documentary) is a very well presented video on history of mathematics. But some books throw some light on it too. Fermat's Last Theorem (Simon Singh) has glimpses of historical facts related to number theory throughout. read more

Ivor Thomas made a lovely source book on Greek mathematics in 2 Volumes. Also, I can wholeheartedly recommend Classics in the History of Greek Mathematics, edited by Jean Christianidis. The title is somewhat misleading, it is actually a collection of classic articles by different historians, divided into sections and presented with an informative introduction. read more

As far as I know, Boyer's books (e.g. A History of Mathematics or The History of the Calculus and Its Conceptual Development) are classics. I read the first one some years ago and found it very interesting, easy to read and complete; its only flaw is that the history stops at the first half of 1900. read more
