The biggest challenge is fighting what locals term “Keys Disease.” That is going for a week and staying for a lifetime. That being said, you need to have the proper “Key West mentality” for it. If you don’t like being around tourists, then you won’t like Key West. read more
There were a lot of problems people moving west faced: -Running out of supplies -Running out of water -Illness/disease -Attacks from Indians -Getting held up by bandits -Natural Disasters (rain, harsh winds, snow, etc.) -Natural barriers (huge mountains, valleys, and canyons). read more
As they moved west, they had to deal and fight against various native American tribes. Also, having to cope to weather change they weren't use to, and the terrain. When some Americans were moving west to go to California for gold, they were forced to travel over the very high peaked Rocky Mountians. read more
