In terms of composition, Wayne Shorter has produced some of the most dynamic, complex, and involved pieces in the entirety of jazz’s existence. Deluge is one of my personal favorites. Although “traditionally” drummers don’t exemplify soulful or beautiful performances, Brian Blade can do no wrong. read more
