When gluing - you only need a little brushed onto the brick - easiest to use a syringe of some similar device to put the glue between the studs - then apply the second brick. depends on your goals. many build and display people use glue. if it is for play, let it get destroyed, but honestly, a 5 and 3 years old playing with normal lego sets should be really closely supervised as the pieces will go missing if not, glued or not. read more
