While I was surprised at the number and variety of animals I saw in Ethiopia, it is not a safari destination. The national parks are small and protect a limited number of animals, there is not the variety you get in more traditional safari areas. read more

We have just got back from Ethiopia and have safaried in Kenya as well. Certainly Ethiopia is a different safari experience- not lions, leopards elephants etc. Given your time restraints I would suggest a trip to the Bale Mountains National Park where you will see endemic animals such as Ethiopian Wolf, Nyala, Memelik Bush buck and many of the birds that are endemic to Ethiopia. read more
