Elks Lodges, known as subordinate lodges, are located in about 2,100 cities and towns across the United States and its territories (as of 2006). There is one Elks lodge overseas, in Metro Manila, the Philippines, a former US territory; only American citizens can be members. read more
The Elks are a fraternal order and there is probably still an initiation that goes along with joining. I'm not sure what their charity is. The Kiwanis and Rotary are pirmarily business people's organizations. I'm fairly sure there is a fee but no initiation involved with membership. read more
