There are many differences between the two schools on a range of issues. First, the most obvious is location. Although FSU is in the state capitol, Tallahassee is a college town. In terms of academic reputation FSU>USF>UCF. FSU is more of a traditional campus school and I think the best choice of the 3 both academically and socially. The only caveat to that is that FSU is a more"southern" school than USF or UCF, especially if you are from the Tampa area. read more

Actually, FSU is miles ahead of UCF, academically. All you have to do is look at the rankings and stats. FSU is ranked as a Tier 1 school. UCF is a bottom tier 3 school, almost Tier 4. I also wouldn't say that UCF is"breathing down FSU's neck". The gap is pretty considerable, especially when you compare grad programs. read more
