The metric system's disadvantages include: It completely dodged any decimalization of time (except fractions of a second). [Though decimalization of time had been and continues to be discussed ad nauseum.] The second is now so embedded into the metric system that we would have to scrap it entirely if we changed to any other measure of time. read more
The metric system is a decimal system, so it's easier to learn than the non-decimal U.S. system. Using the metric system has several advantages over the U.S. system, but fractions are easier with the U.S. system. read more
