Travelling around Sydney is very challenging. The roads are choked with cars, etc. during morning and afternoon peaks. So a “good” neighbourhood is one that has good access to public transport, preferably train. read more
It's probably easier to answer which are the bad areas by saying not many, unless you decide to go to some of the low rent housing districts in the outer Western and south Western suburbs, or in Redfern, a suburb in the southern area of central Sydney. read more

South of Sydney Harbour Circular Quay-- This transport hub for ferries, buses, and trains is tucked between the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. The Quay, as it ’ s called, is a good spot for a stroll, and its outdoor restaurants and street performers are popular. read more
