Mutations are what can move our species forward. They can be the catalyst for evolution to take place since they provide the genetic variation necessary for this process to occur. These mutations, if good, then can be passed down to future generations and benefit the species. read more

Some mutations, however, can lead to deadly diseases. Take cancer for example, it occurs because the replication regulator of a cell becomes damaged.
