What are the pros and cons of professionalizing convicts?

I have a hard time coming with cons for allowing ex convicts to vote, they have paid their debt to society after all. When it comes to convicts themselves, my problem is that they have different goals and views than people outside the prisons. read more

Pros: Convicts ideally should become productive citizens, after being released from imprisonment, probation, or parole. When an ex convict is given a job (in any line of work) he is given responsibilty to uphold, a schedule to adhere to. read more

Pros of Hiring Ex-convicts: 1. Excited to start new career: Despite of all the hurdles in their life, some ex-convicts explore to start new career, they contribute their full efforts to get stable in their life and they can bring change in their life. read more

Pros, over and done with, less disruptive of personal life (provided there is no permanent injury or death.) Cons, that permanent injury and death part. Most law abiding people don't want to be a part of it. Difficult to “measure” the punishment. Prison, Pros, measurable, tolerable to the public, no direct risk of permanent physical injury or death. read more
