I.E., Austin and College Station, which I guess wasn't much of a town at all back then, but not too far from East Texas, North Texas or Central Texas. OTOH, back in those days and later on, the state medical schools were put (or gradually morphed into what they are) in the bigger cities, Galveston (biggest when founded in 1891), Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. read more
