Yesterday, I got 3 guppies (1 male, 2 female) and ever since I put them in the tank, they have just been swimming at the top of the tank. The male is a little more adventurous and will wander .... You will want to be ready to get more fish tanks cause you will quickly become over stocked. Guppies will have babies none-stop. read more

many things can cause water problems, not enough air, too hot, not enough bacteria ( the good bacteria) the kind that eat the waste from the fish and help keep the tank livable. most could be made more tolerable to the fish by adding more air to the water. an air pump and a bubble stone, many tiny bubbles works better than a few big ones. read more

Usually lack of dissolved oxygen in the tank. A large fish needs a lot of dissolved oxygen, so unless you have a circulation pump to keep the dissolved oxygen up. read more

When guppies swim at the top they are either hungry of just want to swim around and be energetic. If they are at the bottom they are probably sleeping ( and yes fish DO sleep :) ) Its perfectly normal. read more
