What did Jimi Hendrix think of Jeff Beck as a guitar player?

Jimi Hendrix evidently didn’t pay attention to that much of Jeff Beck’s music, but evidently, what he knew he liked a lot. I suspect the raga-like use of feedback on “Shapes of Things,” which came out in February 1966, ten months before the “Hey Joe” debut single came out, would have definitely appealed to Hendrix. read more

Jeff Beck is one of a very few innovators who helped establish the way electric rock guitar is played today, starting back in the early 1960’s. I saw him live a few years ago, and he still plays brilliantly. read more
