They expected persecution of Jews, especially in Poland and other occupied lands, but there was quite a bit of surprise and anger when German Jews who had served the German Empire were sent to camps(a number of them were even awarded the Iron Cross for their service in WWI). read more
Veterans, old (jewish) people and other "special jews" where deported to Theresienstadt. Part of the camp was cleaned up as a stage for a propaganda movie to show the world that reports about bad treatment for jews where exaggerated. read more
