There are a subset of the Canadian population that love the monarchy (The Monarchist League of Canada) and there is a subset that hates it (Citizens for a Canadian Republic). There are probably other groups on both sides of the issue but you get the idea. read more

For the record, there is no such thing as a Canadian monarchy. Yes, Canada is a Constitutional Monarchy but the monarch is the head of the Commonwealth (currently Queen Elizabeth II). Canada has a Governor General (GG) who serves as the Queen's representative and that's as close to a "monarchy" as we have. read more
