What do diorite and andesite have in common?

From what I gathered so far in my into to Geology class, both Diorite and Andesite are igneous rocks and their mineral compositions are both intermediate/andesitic. read more

Contrarily, andesite may resemble rhyolite, meaning it presents a need for microscopic examination to see its mineral crystals. Meaning that the dominant crystals in these two rocks would be Amphibole, Plagiocase Felsdspar and rocks that are more like accessories would be Pyroxene Biotite. read more
