What do Hong Kong residents think of Taiwan?

I cannot speak for all Hong Kong residents, but I think my view is a popular one. Relaxing Hong Kong is about as busy a city as you can get. I like to describe it as being more New York than New York. It's like New York City with more people, taller buildings, and more energy. read more

I think it's a very good marketing strategy for Taiwan. There are so many overworked people in the region, and a quick vacation to Taiwan is the perfect getaway. Food Hong Kong has really good food. But Taiwan is unbelievable. I know people in Hong Kong who go to Taiwan just to eat. It sounds ridiculous, but having tried the food, I see why. read more

At that time, flights between those two regions required a connection at Hong Kong. I think, this situation more or less make Taiwan-Hong Kong relationship become more closer than Taiwan-China relationship. From my point of view as a resident of Taipei, Taiwan; Taiwanese people somehow do not view Hong Kong as a part or province of China. read more
