When Indians think of Sri Lanka, They think of 1. First thing Cricket and Cricketers. Murali, Sanga, Mahela, De Silva, Rantunga, Dilshan and Malinga. 2. Sri Lankan culture is heavily influenced by India. The history of Sri Lanka is inextricably intertwined with that of India - migrations, conquests, trade exchanges, etc. If you are Buddhist or Hindu, India in front and center when studying religion. It is strange that Theravada Buddhism flourished in Sri Lanka, while it pretty much died out in India. read more

Most of Indians loves Sri Lanka. As you see the same post in quora all the majority of the people (almost 90%) answered Indians don't hate Sri Lanka, Instead they love the country. And I have friends in Sri Lanka who belong to Sinhala (I just want to tell u the views of the people, not their race) llikes India as well. But not much as Indians do. read more

I think not only in Sri Lanka, all over the world Indians have bad reputation. When they see brown skin, they think these people will bargain for everything like they do back in their country and they are cunning, stinchy people. read more
