The Danish Kennels Association filed a complaint with the FCI in 2010 claiming it should be re-registered as Danish, but I do not know what came of it. Its like Team Handball which both Denmark and Germany also claim to have invented. At least we have the satisfaction its called a Great Dane in the dominant international language. read more
