Belt dressing is not the best way to try and fix a slipping belt. You need to replace the belt or at least adjust it to stop the slipping. If it's slipping the belt will be glazed from the heat caused by friction and replacing it is the way to go. read more

As the engine runs, the fan belt will be moving quickly, so you can leave the can in one place and spray onto the belt as it spins.
