What does it feel like to live in rural India?

I'm from a proper village, where one needs to walk 3 km, to avail public transportation. I lived all my school life there. It depends on which part of rural India you go to. But for most of rural India, I'd say the quality of life is way ahead of the standard of living. Most people in rural India lead stress free lives on a daily basis, because of one factor - there is no time pressure on them. read more

Reading the comments, rural India sounds very much like rural Europe. There are very poor regions, and regions which do fine. Still the preassumption is rural=past, urban=present. read more
