What happened to the evacuated soldiers right after Dunkirk?

After a very brief period of R&R (geting soak and wet at the local pubs), the British soldiers evacuated were called back to service, and the foreign governments of the countries that had just been occupied like France and the Netherlands also called their soldiers back to service. read more

BTW, some British troops were sent to France after the Dunkirk evacuation, & when the Germans broke through the reconstituted French defences (which had fewer men & far fewer tanks & guns than in May), there was another evacuation, of over 200,000 troops & others (e.g. the president of Poland), from ports from Le Havre to Bayonne. read more
